Duphaston tablet is a hormonal tablet containing the active ingredient Dydrogesterone, a synthetic progestogen that functionally mimics the actions of natural progesterone in the female body. It is primarily utilized in managing a range of conditions stemming from progesterone deficiency, including various menstrual disorders such as irregular, painful, or absent periods, as well as treating gynaecological issues like endometriosis and Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS).
Uses :-
Duphaston tablet is used for
- Menstrual disorders: Irregular, absent, or painful periods (dysmenorrhea), and abnormal uterine bleeding.
- Pregnancy Support: Prevention of threatened or habitual miscarriage (recurrent pregnancy loss) in cases of known progesterone deficiency.
- Gynaecological Conditions: Endometriosis, Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), and infertility related to luteal phase defect. *
- Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): Used in combination with estrogen to prevent the thickening of the uterine lining (endometrial hyperplasia) in postmenopausal women.
Side effects :-
