How Albet Plus Suspension works
Albet Plus 200/1.5 MG Suspension 10 ML contains two main active ingredients:
Albendazole (200 mg): This medication belongs to the benzimidazole group of anti-worm drugs. It works by interfering with the creation of tiny tubular structures, called cytoplasmic microtubules, within the worm’s digestive system. These microtubules are vital for the worm to absorb glucose. By disrupting them, albendazole reduces the worm’s glucose intake and drains its energy reserves, eventually paralyzing and killing it.
Ivermectin (1.5 mg): Ivermectin is part of the avermectin family of anti-worm agents. It operates by specifically attaching to certain chloride ion channels found in the nerve and muscle cells of invertebrates. This attachment increases the flow of chloride ions, causing the cell membranes to become overcharged (hyperpolarized). This leads to paralysis and ultimately, the death of the parasite.
