Dynaglipt LM 2.5/500 tablet is a prescription combination medication used for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus . Type 2 diabetes develops when the body does not produce enough insulin or when the body’s insulin does not work as well as it should. It can also develop if the body produces too much glucagon. Insulin is a substance which helps to lower the level of sugar in your blood, especially after meals. Dynaglipt LM 2.5/500 tablet contains two active ingredients: Linagliptin (2.5 mg) and Metformin (500 mg), which help control blood sugar levels. Metformin makes the body more sensitive to insulin (a hormone involved in glucose metabolism). This helps our body cells to utilize more amount of the circulating blood glucose. Additionally, it can stop glucose production by the liver and reduces its absoprtion in the body. Linagliptin controls blood sugar levels by blocking the actions of an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4 that reduces insulin secretion in the body. Collectively, Dynaglipt LM 2.5/500 controls blood sugar levels and improve glycemic control in patients with type II diabetes.
