Gemer DS 2mg is a prescription anti-diabetic combination medication used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus when diet, exercise, and single-drug therapy are insufficient.
The tablet contains two active ingredients that work in different ways to lower blood glucose:

Glimepiride (2mg): A sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin.

Metformin (1000mg): A biguanide that reduces glucose production in the liver and improves the body’s sensitivity to insulin.

Side Effects

Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): Trembling, sweating, dizziness, and hunger. Carry a sugar source (candy/glucose) at all times.

Digestive Issues: Nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, or a metallic taste in the mouth.

General: Headache or upper respiratory tract irritation.
Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have liver or kidney disease or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Generally, it is advised to avoid alcohol while on treatment.
