Uses
It is used in adults and in children (aged 6 years or above) to manage symptoms associated with:
- Allergic rhinitis (such as nasal congestion, itchy nose, repeated sneezing, and red, watery, and itchy eyes)
- Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (severe skin rash with reddish raised patches and itching)
How OKACET Tablet Works
Okacet is an anti-allergic medicine. It reduces allergic reactions by blocking the release of certain chemicals (histamines) in the body that trigger the allergic response. As a result, it provides relief from the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and urticaria.

- Alcohol : Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine, as it might make you feel dizzier and drowsier.
- Pregnancy : Due to the lack of sufficient safety data in pregnant women, the risk to the developing foetus is not known. If you are pregnant, use Okacet 10 MG Tablet only if prescribed by your doctor.
- Breast-feeding : Okacet 10 MG Tablet passes into breastmilk. A high dose or prolonged use of this medicine may cause drowsiness and other effects on your baby. If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor.
- Liver / Kidney : Okacet Tablet can be taken by patients with liver health issues. But, if you have severe liver disease, it’s essential to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine. Similarly, if you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust the dosage of Okacet Tablet, as cetirizine is primarily eliminated through the kidneys. So, ensure to consult your doctor before starting this medicine.
