In Treatment of Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Urizor D Tablet 15 contains two active ingredients:
-
Dutasteride (0.5 mg): This component is a 5α-reductase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is the primary hormone responsible for prostate growth, and by reducing DHT levels, dutasteride helps shrink the enlarged prostate gland over time.
-
Tamsulosin (0.4 mg): This works as an α1-adrenergic receptor antagonist that specifically targets the smooth muscles in the prostate, bladder neck, and urethra. By relaxing these muscles, tamsulosin improves urine flow and reduces symptoms like hesitancy, straining, and incomplete bladder emptying.
